Data Center training services are a strategically important segment — both as an independent revenue stream and as a brand positioning tool for Viet My Tech within the technical community. This is also an area where you have a clear competitive advantage through your role in BICSI Vietnam and VDCC.

All training services are structured into three pillars: international certifications, advanced technical training, and in-house corporate programs. Each pillar serves different needs and has its own revenue model. Now let’s go deeper into each.

Pillar 1 — International certification programs

Why this is the most strategic segment

International certifications create three simultaneous values: learners gain global recognition, Viet My Tech is positioned as a reputable training provider, and you — as Chairman of BICSI Vietnam Chapter — gain a unique competitive advantage in Vietnam.

1.1 BICSI — The most important certification ecosystem

BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) is the world’s leading non-profit organization in ICT and Data Center infrastructure. Its certification system is structured by professional roles:

RCDD — Registered Communications Distribution Designer: A comprehensive ICT infrastructure design certification. Requirements: minimum 2 years of industry experience and passing a 100-question exam. Covers structured cabling, fiber optics, wireless, security systems, and data center cabling infrastructure. This is the foundational credential — required before advancing to higher-level certifications.

DCDC — Data Center Design Consultant: A specialized certification for DC design. Requires RCDD or equivalent experience plus 2 years of DC experience. Focuses on power systems, cooling, structured cabling, commissioning, and operations. This is one of the most practical certifications for DC design engineers in Vietnam.

RTPM — Registered Telecommunications Project Manager: A certification for PMs specializing in ICT/DC projects. Suitable for professionals moving toward project management.

Exam schedule and preparation: BICSI exams are conducted at Authorized Test Centers — in Vietnam, they can be taken via Pearson VUE. Exams are fully in English. Viet My Tech, as a BICSI Chapter, can organize Exam Prep Courses — a direct revenue-generating training product.

Business model for Viet My Tech: Organize 3–5 day BICSI Exam Prep Workshops before each exam cycle. Market tuition: 15–25 million VND per student. With 15–20 students per cohort, this becomes a strong revenue stream. Corporate packages can also be offered to DC operators upgrading their teams.

1.2 Uptime Institute — ATD and ATS

ATD — Accredited Tier Designer: A 4-day program delivered by Uptime Institute, focusing on Tier Standards: topology requirements and proper design per Tier. No standalone exam — completion grants the credential. Typically held in Singapore and Bangkok — an opportunity for Viet My Tech to become a local partner and bring the program to Vietnam.

ATS — Accredited Tier Specialist: Focuses on operations — how to maintain Tier rating during O&M. Suitable for Operations Managers and Senior Technicians.

Practical value: Professionals with ATD/ATS credentials often earn 20–40% higher salaries than non-certified engineers. This is a strong marketing point.

1.3 EPI — Data Center Professional Series

EPI (Edge & Data Center Professional Institute) provides more accessible certifications, suitable for entry-level professionals:

CDCP — Certified Data Center Professional: Entry-level, 3-day course covering power, cooling, cabling, security, and operations. No prior experience required.

CDCS — Certified Data Center Specialist: Advanced level, specializing in Power, Cooling, Cabling, or Management.

CDCE — Certified Data Center Expert: Highest level, focused on design and optimization.

EPI offers an Authorized Training Partner (ATP) program — Viet My Tech can become an ATP to deliver courses independently with certified instructors, scaling revenue without depending on EPI headquarters.

Pillar 2 — Advanced technical training (In-house curriculum)

This is where Viet My Tech can build fully proprietary programs based on real-world experience.

2.1 Data Center Electrical Systems course

Target audience: Electrical engineers, MEP engineers, DC operations technicians.

Typical 3-day content:

Day 1 — Overview & power infrastructure: DC electrical architecture from EVN connection to rack; redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N); reading Single Line Diagrams (SLD); practical equipment identification.

Day 2 — UPS, Generator & protection: UPS principles (online double conversion); sizing and battery selection; generator auto-start sequence, ATS/AMF; protection systems, lightning, grounding; hands-on UPS alarm reading and battery testing.

Day 3 — PDU, monitoring & maintenance: intelligent PDU, cable management, PUE calculation, preventive maintenance; hands-on PM checklist creation.

Format: 60% theory, 40% hands-on. Lab facilities significantly increase value.

2.2 Data Center Cooling Systems course

Key content:

Thermodynamics basics; airflow management; CRAC vs CRAH; chiller plant operation; free cooling; liquid cooling; ASHRAE standards; optimization and hotspot management.

2.3 AI & HPC Data Center course — the hottest product (2025–2027)

This is the highest-demand course and a major differentiator.

Modules include: AI workloads, GPU infrastructure, high-density power design, liquid cooling, AI networking, and operations optimization.

Unique value: Currently a “blue ocean” in Vietnam.

2.4 DCIM & BMS course

Covers DCIM fundamentals, capacity management, integration, BMS protocols, alarm systems, and monitoring.

Pillar 3 — In-house & Corporate Training

This segment delivers the highest revenue per engagement.

3.1 SOP / O&M Training for operators

Typical case: Newly commissioned DC with a new operations team.

Program: 5–10 days including system familiarization, SOP training, and scenario-based drills.

Deliverable: Customized SOP/MOP documentation.

3.2 Commissioning Lab

Hands-on training during real DC commissioning projects.

Value: Real-world experience not achievable in classrooms.

3.3 Technical Seminar — BICSI Vietnam & VDCC

Seminars act as both marketing and brand building.

Model: 1-day events, 2–4 times/year, combining technical content and real case studies.

Sponsorship: Vendors (Eaton, Vertiv, Schneider, Huawei) sponsor events.

Outputs: Leads for training/consulting, content for branding, expanded network.
